Take a cooker and heat the oil. Now add cumin seeds let it splutter..

Add chopped potato. Saute for 3 minutes.

Add chopped onions, green chilli,tomatoes and fry for another 2 minutes.and add spinach fry for 1 minutes.add all masalas and mix well..

Add washed and drained rice and soaked dal. Stir it for few minutes..

Add 4cups water. Close the lid of cooker. Cook till 3-4 whistles. Open and mix well. garnish with coriander leaves. Serve hot..
It requires only rice, split mung beans, various warming spices, and ghee—ingredients I always have around and that tend to keep for a while.
