There are lots of fruit, jelly, custard, cake and cream recipe combinations to choose from.

You can cook Boudoir Trifle using 12 ingredients and 8 steps. Here is how you achieve that.

Ingredients of Boudoir Trifle

  1. You need 1 packet of boudoir biscuits (finger biscuits).

  2. Prepare 2 of medium sized cans of sliced peaches or canned fruit salad.

  3. You need 1 (385 g) of can of condensed milk.

  4. You need 3 cans of full cream milk (I use the condensed milk can as measure).

  5. Prepare 5 of egg yolks.

  6. It’s 1 tsp of vanilla essence.

  7. Prepare 3-4 tablespoons of maizena (corn starch).

  8. It’s 1 of small can nestle cream whisked.

  9. Prepare 1 of flake crushed.

  10. It’s Handful of mint leaves for garnish (optional).

  11. You need of Notes.

I have often made trifles in the middle of the night.

Boudoir Trifle step by step

  1. Layer the boudoir biscuits in a Pyrex or individual bowl/cups..

  2. Remove peaches or fruit from the can and place in a bowl, reserve syrup..

  3. Pour the syrup over the biscuits until soaked through..

  4. In pot place the condensed milk, whole milk, egg yolks, vanilla essence and maizena and beat with an electric beater or whisk for 5 min until everything is mixed well and smooth..

  5. Place on medium heat and bring to the boil and allow it to thicken, whisking continuously..

  6. Once it’s thick remove from Heat and pour over the boudoir biscuits..

  7. Let it cool for awhile and pour over the whisked nestle cream and top with the sliced peachs, crushed flake and mint leaves.

  8. Chill in fridge for 2-3 hours before serving..
