  7. It’s 2 tbsp of maizena or other corn flour(heaped).

  8. Prepare 2 tbsp of butter.

Milk tart (or Melk Tert) is a South African dessert pie.

South African milk tart step by step

  1. Mix crushed biscuits with the melted butter and press into a pie dish..

  2. Heat 3 cups milk with sugar and butter, setting aside the other 1/2 cup for later..

  3. Separate eggs, beat yolks and add to the milk..

  4. With the 1/2 cup milk which was set aside earlier, mix flour and maizena to a paste..

  5. Add to the mixture, always stirring..

  6. Remove from heat..

  7. Beat egg whites to a stiff peak, then fold into the milk mixture..
