Prepare of rice.

It’s of masoor daal.

You need of onion chopped.

It’s of Zeera (cumin).

It’s of garlic chopped.

You need of curry leaves.

Prepare of Oil for cooking.

It’s of Salt.
It is a South Indian dish made from rice and pulses and can be served to any age group.
Heat up a tsp oil in a pressure cooker, add cumin seeds, add chopped garlic and saute till garlic gets nice golden color.
Add hing, turmeric powder, tomatoes and mix well.
Add coriander powder, red chilli powder, garam masala, mix well, now add soaked rice and dal, mix well.

Heat oil and add curry leaves, chopped onion and garlic and jeera Cook for 2-3 minutes and add water 3 cups and salt.

When water starts boiling add masoor daal and rice together.Cook for 15-20 minutes then close the lid and cook on low flame for 5 minutes. Your khichdi is ready to serve.Serve hot with achaar or raita.
