It’s of millet(I have used kodo).

You need of chopped mix vegetable.

You need of desi ghee.

Prepare of cumin seeds.

Khichdi is made often at home for lunch since my younger kid loves it.
I make many varieties, this one is similar to the dal khichdi i shared earlier except that there is millets & leafy greens in this.
Add chopped onions, all the vegetables and the spices.
Add the millet to the pan and add the stock.

Take washed millet in a vessel add 2cup of water and soak for 20 minutes..

Boil it along with water and little salt,cook till done..

Heat ghee in a kadhai,add cumin seeds and chopped vegetables.add salt and chilli powder.cook till tender..

Add boiled millet to the cooked vegetables.sprinkle little water over it.cover lid and cook a little more.add chopped coriander leaves and mix well..

Ready to serve hot with tomato chutney..
The millet might need more water to cook.
The liquid should come a little above the millet, so that it looks as if the vegetables and the millet s drowned in water.
When ready to make khichdi, wash moong dal and set aside.
In a pressure cooker, prepare the seasoning.
After the mustard seeds pop, add the dals, cashew, curry leaves and asafotida.
