Dal Khichdi is a delicious Khichdi made with Masoor dal and a handful of spices and regular vegetables.

This surely makes an awesome quick meal.

You can cook Masoor dal khichri using 10 ingredients and 3 steps. Here is how you achieve that.

Ingredients of Masoor dal khichri

  1. You need 1 cup of rice.

  2. You need 1 cup of masoor dal.

  3. You need of Oil as required.

  4. It’s 2 of red hole mirch.

  5. Prepare 1 teaspoon of zeera.

  6. It’s to taste of Salt.

  7. You need 2 of hole black pepper.

  8. Prepare 2 of lahsan slices.

  9. It’s 2 of green chilli.

  10. It’s of Water you need.

This was the first Khichdi I had made in this series and it was so satisfying.

Paired with some aloo bhaja or even aloo potol torkari (floats my boat), this masoor dal khichdi is heavenly!

Masoor dal khichri instructions

  1. Dal or rice ko mix kar Kay bhego dein.

  2. Patile may oil dal Kay lahsan add karen light brown ho jaye to zeera green chilli red hole mirch kal mirch add karen.

  3. Dal or rice add karen pani add karen boil ajye to dun dein Ready hay.

It is a rice and lentil porridge with soya chunks and onions.

Masoor Dal Khichdi, a very healthy vegan one pot meal made from rice, masoor dal and chow chow with the touch of homemade garam masala.

Once a week, I make sure to prepare dal khichdi with the available vegetables.

This protein rich meal can be tried with any combination of dal (toor dal, channa dal, moon dal) and vegetables (carrot, beans, peas, bottle gourd, nookal etc).

Heat up a tsp oil in a pressure cooker, add cumin seeds, add chopped garlic and saute till garlic gets nice golden color.
