In thick bottom pressure cooker, add & heat oil, do tempering of cumin seeds,add turmeric powder, chopped green chillies, grated ginger,dry red chilli mix and saute for 30 secs, add tomato and onion pieces, curry leaves and mix and saute till onion turns pinkish in colour..

Add soaked rice and dals in it mix and add 2 glasses of water. Cover the cooker lid and pressure cook for 4-5 whistles. Let the cooker cool for 1/2 hour, before opening its lid. Mix the prepared khichdi..
