Ingredients of Rava/Suji khichdi

It’s 250 grams of Roasted Suji.

It’s 50 grams of Carrot.

You need 1 of Onion,medium sized.

It’s 1 of Tomato.

You need 5 pods of Garlic.

Prepare 1 sprig of Curry leaves.

Sooji or suji (pronounced soo-jee), semolina and rawa (pronounced ruh-waa) are Hindi words for granulated wheat — and all are from the same powder or flour from wheat.
Rava Kichadi is one pot meal made with semolina and lots of veggies.
This version of kichadi is made with fine semolina [rava/sooji] and lots of veggies.

Rava/Suji khichdi instructions

Keep all the ingredients ready..

Dry roast rava/suji for 5 minutes on a medium-low flame and set aside.

Take a kadhai add 3 spoons oil and add all the ingredients mentioned under the section for seasoning. Then add cashews and fry till golden..

Add chopped ginger, garlic and green chillies and saute for 20 seconds. Then add onions and curry leaves and saute till onions turn transculent..

Add tomatoes and turmeric powder saute for 1 minute..

Add the chopped vegetables along with rock salt and saute for another 1 minute..

Add 1 litre hot water and cook for 5 minutes and let the vegetables get cooked..

Keep the stove on low flame add rava/suji and continuously stir the kadai while adding raja/suji otherwise it will form lumps and spoil the khichdi..

Keep the stove on low flame for 10 to 15 minutes till rava is cooked. Add a spoon of ghee after 15 minutes mix and serve hot with coconut chutney/peanut chutney..
