Corn Khichdi or Makai no dano. Makai ni khichdi is a very tasty dish made using tender corn cobs. Of course, corn by itself is a very tempting ingredient! but, the intelligent choice of spices that complements the corn adds to the lure of this dish, which may be had as a snack or as a veggie accompaniment for dinner. With sweet, fresh corn, available at the local farmers market, I just can't resist myself at making some fresh corn Chevdo (Spicy Indian style creamy corn ch.

Makai No Chino/ Makai No Chevdo/ Makai Ni Khichdi/ Hot Corn Snack is a very delicious and tasty dish made using fresh corn.

The grated fresh corn is cooked along with ginger garlic and chilies and has a balance of sweet and tangy taste.

You can have Corn Khichdi or Makai no dano using 17 ingredients and 10 steps. Here is how you achieve it.

Ingredients of Corn Khichdi or Makai no dano

  1. It’s 1 kg of fresh corn seeds.(1kg desi corn and 1/2 kg American corn).

  2. Prepare 1 liter of Milk.

  3. Prepare 1/2 liter of warm water.

  4. It’s 8-10 of long.

  5. Prepare 1 inch of cinnamon.

  6. It’s 1 tbsp of black pepper powder.

  7. It’s 1 tbsp of red chili powder.

  8. Prepare 1&1/2 tsp of salt.

  9. Prepare 2 tbsp of oil.

  10. It’s 1 tbsp of ghee.

  11. Prepare 1 of red chilli (whole).

  12. It’s 1 tsp of hing.

  13. It’s 1 tsp of turmeric powder.

  14. Prepare 2 tbsp of paste of ginger,garlic and chilli (6 chilli).

  15. You need 1 tsp of garam masala powder.

  16. You need 1 tbsp of jeera.

  17. It’s 1 tbsp each of kaju pieces and kismis.

Also add the ginger, garlic and green chili pastes, turmeric powder and coriander powder.

Corn Khichdi or Makai no dano step by step

  1. First of all, take out corn seeds from the corn and crush it in mixer jar adding very little water. You can also use chili clutter for it..

  2. Take out in a bowl and ready all other ingredients..

  3. Put kadai on the flame and take 2 tbsp oil and 1 tsp ghee in it add jeera 1 red chilli and hing then add chilli ginger garlic paste and saute it for 2-3 minutes..

  4. Now add crushed corn to it and stir it to mix it well..

  5. Add 1/2 liter water to it and stir it for 5 to 10 minutes add salt and turmeric powder in it. Stir it and mix it well..

  6. Then add 1 liter milk gradually as it requires and stir it well. Cook it for 30 minutes at least till it boils and cook..

  7. After 30 or 35 minutes it get cooked.During this stir it constantly until all the milk absorbed..

  8. Then add red chilli powder, turmeric, garam masala and stir it. Also add kaju and kismis in it and stir it for 5 minutes..

  9. Take out in a serving bowl and garnish it with chopped coriander and kaju pieces as shown in the picture..

  10. You can have it with paratha. This khichdi is very healthy and high fiber,full of protein and carbohydrates..

Makai ni khichdi or Makai no chevdo as it is know by the most people, is a popular snack in Gujarat, but I had never heard of it until I got married:).

It is prepared by cooking fresh corn kernels in milk, along with coconut, coriander and some spices.
