Moong Dal Khichdi instructions

  1. Mix dal & rice in a mixing bowl, wash it, soak in water for 1 hour..

  2. Strain it, keep aside..

  3. Take a pressure cooker, add khichdi, salt & ghee..

  4. Add water accordingly so as to keep it a lil thick (not mashy)..

  5. Place the lid, give 4-5 whistles at high flame..

  6. Switch off the flame, open the lid after 5 minutes of cooling. Keep aside..

  7. Now take a pan, add ghee, heat it..

  8. Moderate the flame, add hing & zeera, let it splutter..

  9. Add laung & kali mirch, saute it for a while..

  10. Add ginger & green chilli, saute it for a while..

  11. Now add onion, stir fry it at high flame till brown..

  12. Switch off the flame now, add red chilli flakes, give a stir..

  13. Mix this tadke with cooked Khichdi. Cover it again..

  14. Take out in a serving bowl, have it with chutney, dahi,papad, salad & desi ghee..
