Madhuri Dixit's Sabudana Khichdi Recipe step by step
-
Soak sago in water overnight or for 6-7 hours. Keep in mind that the level of water covering the sago is only about 2-3 inches from the top..
-
Drain away any excess water using a sieve..
-
Place the sago in a large microwave safe dish / steamer, add olive oil, sugar and salt and mix..
-
Microwave this mixture for 3 minutes, take it out once, stir gently, then cook it again in the microwave for 3 minutes..
-
If you want, you can also steam it for 8-10 minutes in an electric steamer. I steamed the sago for 6 minutes in a microwave safe steamer. According to Madhuri ji, steaming and cooking the sago beforehand helps in making the khichdi fluffy and non-sticky..
-
Heat ghee in a Kadahi, add the cumin seeds, green chillies and curry leaves and allow them to crackle..
-
Add the boiled and diced potatoes, mix & cook..
-
Add the steamed Sabudana, mix in gently..
-
Coarsely grind the roasted peanuts and mix them into the mixture. Cook for a few seconds while stirring..
-
Add the chopped fresh coriander, mix well and take off heat..
-
Serve hot. Enjoy! 😀 It turned out to be soft, fluffy and delicious, was so easy and quick to make too! If you like this recipe, then do give it a try it and send me a Cooksnap..
