  1. Prepare 1 cup of rice.

  2. You need 1 cup of toor dal.

  3. It’s 1 of medium sized tomato.

  4. It’s 1 of medium sized potato.

  5. You need 2 of green chillies.

  7. It’s 1 tbsp of coriander leaves.

Toor dal khichdi instructions

  1. Collect the ingredients..

  2. Wash the toor dal and rice. Peel the potato, cut in pieces. Cut the tomato in pieces. Chopped green chillies, coriander leaves and grate the ginger..

  3. Heat ghee in a cooker on medium low flame, add cumin seeds, let it crackle, add green chillies..

  4. Add ginger, mix well. Add tomato, mix well..

  5. Add potato, mix well, add toor dal..

  6. Add rice, turmeric powder and salt..

  7. Mix well, saute for 3 minutes on medium low flame. Add water, mix well..

  8. Cover with the lid. Cook for one whistle on medium low flame. Let it cool down, open the lid..

  9. Add coriander leaves, mix well..

  10. For tadka: Heat 1 tbsp ghee in a small pan, add cumin seeds, when crackle, add hing. Turn off the flame..
