Heat a cooker, add ghee, rai, jeera and curry leaves. Add chopped carrot and capsicum. Saute for 3 minutes.

Add washed and drained rice and dal. Stir it for few minutes. Add salt, red chilli powder and turmeric..

Add 4cups water. Close the lid of cooker. Cook till 5whistles. Open and mix well. Serve hot.

Once the cumin seeds turns brown in colour add black pepper, cloves, turmeric powder, green chilli and ginger.
