Ingredients of Swaminarayan khichdi

  1. It’s 1 bowl of Moong dal.

  2. You need 1 bowl of masoor dal.

  3. Prepare 1/4 of chana dal.

  4. You need 1 bowl of rice.

  5. It’s 1 bowl of toor dal.

  6. Prepare 3 tbsp of Garam masala.

  7. You need 1/2 tbsp of haldi.

  8. You need 2 tbsp of amchur powder.

  9. It’s 3 tbsp of gud (jaggery).

  10. Prepare of Cauliflower.

  11. You need 2 of potato.

  12. It’s of Bhopla.

  13. It’s of Loki.

  14. It’s of Brinjal.

  15. It’s of Salt.

  16. Prepare of Kali miri.

  17. You need of Tej patta.

  18. You need of Long.

  19. It’s of Dalchini.

It is mix dal khichdi which has toor dal, mung (moong) dal, rice, mix vegetables and dry fruits in it.

It is high nutrition food which has lots of protein in it.

This recipe also uses ghee which enhances the taste of khichdi.

Swaminarayan food is cooked without onion, garlic and hing ( asafoetida ).

Swaminarayan khichdi instructions

  1. In cooker add ghee Or oil add 4 kali miri, 4 long, 1 tej patta, 1 dalchini, 1/2 scoop jeera.

  2. Then add all the chopped vegetables saute it nicely and.

  3. Then add 1/2tbsp haldi, and red chilly powder, add hing and 2 tbsp dhaniya powder u can add spring onion also and saute it for 2 mins and take green chilly and ginger.

  4. Make a paste and add in vegetables and saute it fir 1 mins on high flame and add soaked dals and rice and mix it well(all the pulses should be soaked for atleast half n hour) and then add water.

  5. Then it come to little heat and then add salt as per the taste and add 3 tbsp gud powder(jaggery) u can use gud also I was having in a powder.

  6. 2 tbsp amchur powder mix it well and add one tomato then let it come to little boil and then close the lid and wait only for 1 whistle after everything is done when u open just see the consistensy of ur khichdi if u need add water and put on slow flame for 5 mins or till it boil.

  7. If u want add dhaniya and your khichdi is ready to serve.

But I've made this khichdi with few changes of my own to suit our taste buds.
