Recipe: Tasty Peas Khichdi Delicious, fresh and tasty.

Peas Khichdi. Khichadi can be considered as a staple food for Indians, let it be cold, flu or an upset stomach, this is the diet for everything. Easy to digest as well as healthy, Khichdi also tastes delicious. Matar Khichadi is an extended version of the traditional khichadi where the green peas and grated coconut is an addition.

Ingredients of Peas Khichdi

  1. It’s 300 gm of rice (Govinda Bhog),150 gm moong dal,Potato 3 pieces,.

  2. Prepare of Tomato 1piece, ginger paste 2tbsp,salt,sugar, red chilli powder.

  3. Prepare of Turmeric powder 2tbsp,cumin 1tsp,dry red chilli 2 pcs,bay leaves.

  4. You need of Ghee 1tbsp,mustard oil 3tbsp,garam masala powder 1tsp,.

  5. It’s of Cumin powder 2tsp,corriander powder 1tsp,green peas,water.

I even freeze it to use the rest of the year.so this Khichdi with green peas is one of my humble tries to the love of green peas.

I made this khichdi with a combination of Rice ,potato and green Peas.

These are the main ingredients of this dish.

It is an easy to digest healthy Indian food.

Peas Khichdi step by step

  1. Take the rice and pulse in bowls and clean with water,..

  2. Cut the tomato and potatoes into pieces..

  3. Take a handi and put some water in it. Add the pulse (dal) in it and boil it..

  4. Take a pan and put the oil. Heat it..

  5. Add cumin,bay leaves,dry red chilli..

  6. Add the tomatoes and saute it. Add ginger paste in it..

  7. Add cumin powder, corriander powder, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, sugar,salt..

  8. Add some water in it and mix well. Now the masala is ready..

  9. Put the rice in the handi. Add the potatoes in it..

  10. Add some water to boil rice,potatoes..

  11. It boils vigorously. Add the masala in it..

  12. Mix well and add the green peas in it..

  13. When the pulse,rice,potatoes, peas are boiled well….turn the gas off..

  14. Add ghee,garam masala powder..

  15. Mix well. Now it is ready to serve..

When it comes to the khichdi recipe, I always prefer slightly mushy, soft texture.

If you do not like this way, then reduce the amount of water and decrease the cooking time.
