Easiest Way to Cook Perfect Lobhia Khichdi Delicious, fresh and tasty.

Lobhia Khichdi. Lobhia kichidi is a nice and healthy variation to a typical khichdi recipe. The lobia or chickpeas are added o rice along with spices and cooked together to prepare this delicious lobia khichdi. Khichdi is the ultimate comfort food to me, and thats what i crave for now.

It has no fat and is low in calories making it a perfect food to be included for diabetics and heart patients.

It also has good amount of folates and potassium, which is needed during pregnancy.

Punjabi Lobia Masala is a delicious and spicy curry which uses simple spices.

You can have Lobhia Khichdi using 14 ingredients and 7 steps. Here is how you cook that.

Ingredients of Lobhia Khichdi

  1. You need 1 cup of lobhia.

  2. You need 1 cup of yellow lentils.

  3. Prepare 1 cup of red lentils.

  4. It’s 1 cup of aromatic rice (Gobindobhog).

  5. Prepare 1 spoon of hing.

  6. It’s 1/2 spoon of fennel seeds powder.

  7. You need 1 spoon of cumin powder.

  8. It’s 1 spoon of coriander powder.

  9. Prepare 2 Spoons of ghee.

  10. Prepare 1 spoon of cuming seeds.

  11. Prepare 5 of red chillies.

  12. Prepare 3 of green chillies.

  13. Prepare 1 spoon of turmeric powder.

  14. Prepare As per taste of Salt.

Lobhia Khichdi instructions

  1. Soaked the lobia, yellow and red lentils for 4 hrs. Then keep the rice handy..

  2. Now in a pressure cooker add lobhia, rice and lentils with 2 cup water and salt. Cooked it up to 2 whistle. Let it cool for sometime..

  3. Now open the pressure lid. If require add water as per requirement and mix turmeric powder. Now sort other ingredients. Then put a pan kadhai in a flame with ghee..

  4. Once ghee melts then add cuming seeds and red chillies. Once it spluttered then add fennel seeds powder, hing, cuming and coriander powder. Add green chillies and mix all..

  5. Now add the Khichdi in the kadhai. Mix well. Check the salt as required cand add..

  6. Once Khichdi cooked properly and bubbles will form then add cinnamon powder. Again mix well..

  7. Serve hot with papadum.

My daughter used to call them Rajma's(kidney bean) sister and loved it very much.

You can adjust the quantity of lobia and pumpkin.
