Ever since, I have been trying out recipes with both whole masoor and masoor dal. 🙂 The Hyderbadi Khichdi uses rice and masoor dal, with some onions and mild spices. The result was a fragrant, mellow Khichdi that was quite unlike others of its ilk.

This is also healthier and tastier dish that can be incorporated in kids diet in place of regular plane khichdi.

Rinse out and then soak the rice and lentils together for about half an hour.

Soaked dal and rice for half an hour… Wash thoroughly.

Take a cooker.. Put oil… Add mustard cumin seeds.. Hing and curry leaves….

Now add GGG paste and mix well…now add chopped onions.turmeric powder and soaked dal rice. Add red chilli pwdr…dhanajeera powder salt to taste and mix well….

Now add water and whistle for 2 to 3 times… Your Whole masoor khichdi is ready…. Serve wid curd or raita..pickle papad….
