  1. Wash rice and remove excess water.

  2. Add turmeric, garam masala, coriander, salt and sugar.

  3. Heat oil in a pan.

  4. Add hing, rai jeera, onion, ginger garlic paste and curry leaves. Stir until onion turns brown..

  5. Add tomato. Add 1 tbsp of ghee..

  6. Add the rice mixture..

  7. Add hot water to the mixture and let it boil..

  8. Cook the above mixture in a pressure cooker for 1-2 whistles. (Already water is boiled).

But a well-made khichdi is very delicious, protein packed, healthy and nourishing.
