Mirror Glaze Cake. A mirror glaze cake is when a shiny glaze made of chocolate, sweetened condensed milk and gelatin is poured over a frozen cake and it has a super shiny appearance like a mirror. It can be made with dark chocolate, white chocolate or colored. To make the glaze, add sugar, sweetened condensed milk and water to a medium saucepan over medium-low heat.

This simple, easy and effortless recipe with my tips and troubleshooting will show you how to make a mirror glaze perfectly every single time.

Mirror glaze cake is a cake made with glaze that is so shiny that you can almost see your reflection in it!

While this type of glaze works best on smooth mousse cakes, it can work on any cake.

Mirror Glaze Cake instructions

  1. In a big bowl take maida, baking powder, baking soda in a bowl, and mix well..

  2. Take other bowl put milkmaid, butter, sugar, essence and mix well..

  3. Put 1/2 cup drinking soda in the wet mix well..

  4. Add dry ingredients slowly mix very slowly and then only for 30-sec use beater..

  5. Beat well with a whisk until creamy and thick. Preheat oven to 180℃ for 10 minutes..

  6. Meanwhile grease a butter paper, lay it in the baking tin and pour the batter to the tin and keep it ready..

  7. Bake in preheated oven at 180℃ for 30 to 35 mins. Or till a fork inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean..

  8. Allow the cake to cool down for 15 minutes then invert and remove the butter paper..

  9. Before cut just waiting for an hour.

  10. For icing:- Cut cake into three parts. Place one layer on a serving plate, spread sugar syrup on it..

  11. Then spread whipped cream over the top. Gently place the second layer on top of the frosting. Spread remaining frosting over the top..

  12. Place third layer on the top of the second layer. Spread remaining cream over the top and sides of the cake..

  13. For mirror glaze:- Take neutral gell and water mix well..

  14. Divide the glaze evenly between 4-5 bowls. Add colour gel in different shades using gel food colouring..

  15. To create this galaxy mirror glaze colour them blue, orange, red, green, pink, black..

  16. Pour them back into one large bowl alternating colors and drizzling the colors together as you combine them..

  17. Being pouring the glaze onto the center of the cake them slowly work out to the edges of the cake in a circular motion until the cake is fully covered..

  18. Let the glaze continue to drip for about 10 minutes, then scrape away excess glaze from the bottom of the cake board using a small offset spatula..

  19. Place the cake in the fridge to allow the cake to slowly thaw..

  20. Remove from the fridge a couple hours before you plan to cut into it..

Pour the colored glazes back into the biggest bowl of black and blue glaze.

Swirl them gently with a spoon.

Place the cake on a stand over a sheet tray to catch any excess glaze.

Carefully pour the glaze over the cake.
