Majjige Huli / Curd curry step by step

  1. Firstly soak chana dal and peppercons for half and hour.

  2. Now in a mixer grinder add all the ingredients under to grind and make a fine paste.

  3. In a pan heat oil, add mustard seeds, turmeric powder hing curry leaves and let it splutter.Add chopped bottle gourd and cook till soft..

  4. Add the ground masala and saute till the raw smell goes, now add curd and 1 cup water and mix well.. Add salt and sugar and cook for 5 mins.. Remember to whisk the curd before adding or else it will curdle…

  5. Serve it hot with plain rice and ghee…

It is a tangy curry made from buttermilk and coconut.

This curry is usually made with water based vegetables like Bengaluru cucumber, white pumpkin, squash or snake guard.
