How to Prepare Delicious Sev Usal Delicious, fresh and tasty.

Sev Usal. One can make best sev usal at home by just topping up ragda with boiled potatoes, grated carrot, chopped onions and lots of sev. The additional garnishing of flavorful green coriander chutney, sweet and tangy date tamarind chutney and spicy garlic chutney makes this Gujarati snack a delightful and palatable experience. Sev Usal is a tempting Indian snack, very popular street food in west of India.

One can have sev usal as snack or a complete meal.

Sev usal chaat is a unimaginably scrumptious treat and has a vibrant burst of flavors.

The procedure of making sev usal is divided into two steps.

You can cook Sev Usal using 12 ingredients and 7 steps. Here is how you cook it.

Ingredients of Sev Usal

  1. It’s 2 cups of boiled green vatana.

  2. It’s 2 of boiled and chopped potatoes.

  3. You need 1 tsp of mustard seeds.

  4. You need 2 of chopped onions.

  5. It’s 1 of big chopped tomatoe.

  6. It’s 2 tbsp of ginger garlic chilli paste.

  7. Prepare As per taste of Salt.

  8. It’s 1/2 tbsp of Turmeric powder.

  9. Prepare 2 tbsp of Coriander leaves.

  10. You need As per taste of imli chutney, garlic chutney and green chutney.

  11. Prepare As required of sev.

  12. It’s 3 tbsp of Oil.

First is making the ragda and second is assembling it.

For making ragda, we have taken soaked white peas over night and cooked them in pressure cooker.

This Sev Usal is prepared with dried green peas and some spicy and aromatic ingredients.

The speciality of this Sev Usal recipe is the Tari that is prepared using lots of garlic and a tadka of red chilli powder.

Sev Usal instructions

  1. Heat oil in a pan add mustard seeds, when mustard seeds turn brown then add chopped onions into the pan and saute till it turn light brown..

  2. Add garlic, ginger paste into the pan mix well and saute for a minute..

  3. Add chopped tomatoes into the pan, mix well and add turmeric powder, red chilli powder and mix well and cook it for 5-minutes, on medium flame..

  4. Add boiled green vatana and chopped potatoes, and mix well then add Coriander leaves and cook it for 15-minutes on medium flame..

  5. Take usal into a bowl add mithi chutney, garlic chutney, green chilli chutney, sev and mix well..

  6. Usal is ready..

  7. Enjoy it..

Now take a pan, add the oil to it, then the cumin and mustard seeds.

When they start spluttering, add the green chillies, saute for a minute, then add the boiled peas to this.
