  1. Mix green mung dal and rice. 1 cup rice and 3 tbsp mung daal..

  5. Baigan chutney.. Rub oil on Brinjal and roast it until cooked. Remove skin. Mash it adding ginger garlic paste, chopped green chilli and salt. Baigan chutney ready to serve..

The difference being, in Khichuri, we roast the lentil + rice' before cooking them and that adds a magical smokey aroma to this dish. 'Bengali Bhog Khichuri' is a traditional version of Khichdi which is a mixture of rice and pulses cooked together which you can serve with a pickle and raita for lunch or dinner.
