Ingredients of Soya Pyaaz Pulao

  1. You need 7-9 of Soya Chunks, soaked in water (5-10 minutes).

  2. Prepare 2 of Onions, roughly chopped.

  3. It’s 1 of small size Potato, chopped.

  4. Prepare 1 1/2 of Tomato, finely chopped.

  5. You need 1 tbsp of cumin seeds.

  6. It’s 2-3 of garlic cloves, chopped.

  7. You need 2-3 tbsp of olive oil / any oil.

  8. It’s 1/2 cup of Basmati rice, soaked.

  9. It’s as per taste of Salt.

  10. You need 1 tsp of Kitchen king masala.

  11. It’s 1/2-1 tsp of red chilli powder.

  12. You need 1/2 tsp of Turmeric powder.

  13. Prepare Pinch of Asafoetida/hing.

  14. Prepare 1-2 of bay leaves.

Soya Chunks Pulao is a simple and mild pulao recipe with coconut milk.

I usually add soya chunks to vegetable biryani or on very rare ocassions make soya chunks biryani.

Pulao recipe is a one pot rice dish made with rice, spices, vegetables & herbs.

Soya Pyaaz Pulao instructions

  1. Heat 1 or 2 tbsp of oil in the pressure cooker. Add cumin seeds and asafoetida. Add some chopped onions and sauté them till they turn translucent in colour..

  2. Then add chopped tomatoes and potatoes. Add some salt (as per taste) and soaked soya chunks also. Mix them well. Note - Sprinkle some water if the mixture gets dry..

  3. Add all the masalas, soaked rice. and some water. Now cover it and let the rice cook. (Atleast 2 whistles).

  4. Once done, turn off the flame. Transfer the rice to the serving plate and garnish with coriander leaves. Serve hot with raita or curd..
